Job Description
Laporta's Restaurant follows the creative lead of executive chef and owner Douglas Laporta's desire to create a place for extraordinary food in a casual, comfortable setting, perfect for relaxing with friends. Laporta's has an attentively serviced contemporary dining room perfect for a romantic evening out, special occasion or private party, combined with an adjoining intimate Jazz lounge to decompress after work or just while the evening away. Sip a strawberry mojito or one of the many other made from scratch cocktails from our extensive drink list, relax and listen to the live jazz featured nightly. The lounge has the warmth and friendly feel of a locals bar yet with the same excellence of service and consistency of food quality that defines our dining room and exemplifies the restaurant as a whole. The menu features inventive fresh seafoods and hearty pastas complemented by the provincial-style desserts of Margaret Laporta. Their culinary skills, combined with a delightfully warm atmosphere, make for the perfect dining experience. 
As a server, your goal is to ensure guest satisfaction and thrill them during their dining experience.
Job Requirements
Major Responsibilities:
Direct guests to their seats and present the menu
Suggest and present the guest with specials for the night
Attend to all guest needs
Work with the back server to ensure all of the guest’s needs are met
Work in a diligent manner in order to achieve outstanding service quality
Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Physical Requirements:
Be able to stand on your feet for the majority of scheduled shift
Have strong customer-oriented skills
Must be able to work quickly in a confined area and stand for extended periods of time.

Knowledge and Skills:
Basic English reading and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ring in all orders & process payments
Maintain tables through pre-bussing, marking and clearing with correct procedure
Identify and prioritize tasks to maintain tables
Show teamwork within front/ back team

Education Requirements:

No educational requirements needed but prior restaurant experience is preferred
