To minimally qualify for this position all applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED; and 0-3 years of relevant experience.
To be considered an ideal candidate applicants must possess all the above as well as possess the following skills: attention to detail; ability to multi-task; flexible and functions well under stressful pressured situation; ability to anticipate future needs of staff he/she is supporting and take the initiative to address those needs; excellent communication skills with colleagues, high-level customer service skills with the public; .
About the Department
Alexandria Health Department (AHD) is one of 35 health districts in Virginia. As part of the Virginia Department of Health, AHD serves the residents, businesses, and visitors of Alexandria and works closely with the City of Alexandria and community partners to achieve its mission and vision. *Please note that this is a 90 day temporary position with the possibility of an extension.
Work is in-person 8:00-5:30 PM, Monday-Sunday. All days will not be scheduled with a POD, but the applicant must work the scheduled POD days.
The ideal candidate is willing to work additional hours when needed to complete tasks or work at vaccination events
Will receive training in Incident Command Structure (ICS) and following chain of command, HIPAA compliance, Biosafety and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and POD (Point of Dispensing) structure and procedures
