Interstate Moving is seeking college students interested in earning extra money while you are home for the summer. Our summer employees receive PAID training to ensure you success and teach you a skilled trade. And, if you decide to stay past the summer, know that Interstate has a long tradition of offering permanent positions to students after graduation both in Logistics and Corporate. Rehires have the option to apply to office positions if you are interested when you return.

The Packer Driver drives, packs, loads and unloads variety of household goods normally found in homes and offices in a safe and careful manner. Operates the pack van and transports the packing crew between the terminal and assigned work sites. Acts as Crew Chief.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
- Inspects the assigned pack van for damages, flat or worn tires, check fluid levels, and
- confirm general travel worthiness.
- Prepares the vehicle before leaving the warehouse, ensuring that all materials for the
- assigned job are loaded and ready for use.
- Operate the pack van and transport pack crew to and from work sites.
- Writes complete and accurate inventory of household contents, office furniture or other goods when required.
- Cleans packaging containers.
- Lines and pads crates and assembles cartons.
- Obtains and sorts product.
- Wraps protective material around household goods.
- Inserts goods into containers.
- Weighs containers and adjusts quantity.
- Closes and seals containers. Labels containers, container tags, and products.
- Sorts bundles or filled containers.
- Packs special arrangements or selections of household items.
- Inspects materials, items, and containers at each step of packaging process.
- Records information such as weight, time, and date packaged.
- Safely lifts, packs, loads and unloads the vehicle as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current driver’s license in good standing; ability to be qualified to operate a pack van vehicle.
- Must be able to pass a background check and Drug Test.
- Clean Driving Record – less then 3 infractions in 3 years.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
