Job Description

ABM Industries is searching for a Regional Vice President, Mechanical Services to lead our East region. The ideal candidate will preferably be in the Atlanta or Cumming GA area or in the Alexandria, VA area, but we are flexible and qualified candidates in the Eastern region of the country are also welcome to apply. The Regional Vice President (RVP) of Mechanical Services will lead Division, Branch & Department leaders to drive consistent operations throughout the business. The RVP will work with operations management to ensure project management, field personnel, and other resources are aligned to assure that quality projects are performed on time, within budget and to clients’ satisfaction. across all Mechanical Operations in the Region. The RVP has responsibility for the revenue and profitability of each region. As well as development and ownership of the execution of core services go to market strategy. The position is a key executive leadership role that drives continuous improvement, and operational efficiency for all aspects of the business segment. The RVP reports to the Senior Vice President of Mechanical Services and supports all business initiatives.

Essential Functions:

  • Accountable for the financial results of Regional Mechanical operations.
  • Establishes operating policies & procedures that align with organizational goals
  • Oversee the budget forecasting process to drive accurate projections based on the latest information available.
  • Presents monthly/quarterly and YE reviews as well as tracking and reporting of strategic initiatives and key performance metrics.
  • Directly involved in managing job analysis and creating sustainable staffing models to ensure consistent profitability on all jobs, and to identify and make improvements where necessary.
  • Leads the project and service contract review process for design projects of various scale across country to ensure compliance with operating policies
  • Identify & develop leaders within the organization to prepare for future growth and succession planning.
  • Collaborates with sales & estimating experts to ensure accuracy, profitability, and competitive advantage during the bidding stage.
  • Drive recruitment and hiring of key operations personnel in the region with our Branch teams and Talent Acquisition/HR teams.
  • Ensures branch teams are effectively billing contracts and projects as well as driving monthly cash collection strategy.
  • Works with key external and internal customers to establish relationships that result in better business outcomes.
  • Drives a culture of safety following required safety activities.
  • Provide regular feedback to Senior Vice President of Mechanical on status of large construction projects, particularly if there are difficulties (ex: schedule delay, installation difficulties, scope of work changes).
  • Support and promote new company initiatives and process improvements
  • Function as Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s) as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or technical school or 10 years related experience.
  • Minimum (10) years’ experience with P&L ownership
  • Minimum (10) years project and/or service management experience in Mechanical, Engineering, Bundled Energy Solutions, or related construction field.
  • Minimum (5) years of client facing sales or account management role responsible for revenue growth
  • Minimum (5) years managing a multimillion-dollar labor budget
  • Must have working knowledge of office equipment and Microsoft Office products to include but not limited to Microsoft Projects, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to present at the highest executive level of the company
  • Ability to manage change at a large scale with multiple direct reports

Pay: $169,400 - $242,000

The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
