ABM, a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is looking for a Maintenance Technician.
The General Maintenance Technician will complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs requiring conveyor, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC and other equipment, systems or structures. Ensures repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities. Responds to spills and other emergency situations, performing tasks necessary. Assists in emergencies as needed.

Hourly Rate: $23.24
This is the hourly rate for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program.
Shift: Tuesday - Saturday 8am - 5pm

This is a L99 union position. Union benefits include:
· Fully paid healthcare
· 11 paid holidays
· 10 days accrued sick leave beginning immediately upon start of employment
· 10 days paid vacation after 1 year
· On call required - compensation is 4 hours regular pay for the on call. Call backs to the building will be 4 hour minimum paid at 1.5 x hourly rate

Essential Functions

    • Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
    • Performs preventive building maintenance duties.
    • Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water fountains.
    • Performs routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and assists in repairing ballast and light fixtures.
    • Must be safety conscious and work safely within a team-oriented environment.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

    • 2+ years of experience with Light residential plumbing
    • 2+ years of experience with Heat Pump HVAC systems (possess a Universal CFC or ability to attend class to obtain)
    • 2+ years of experience with Light residential electrical
    • 2+ years of experience basic appliance troubleshooting
    • Ability to work on ladders
    • Ability to move 30 pounds un-assisted occasionally
    • Ability to utilize a tablet for service tickets (Apple technology experience a plus)
    • Exceptional customer service skills for residents and client.
    • Basic computer skills.
