Overview:

The HVAC Specialist is responsible for performing general maintenance of HVAC systems. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Regional Managers and Team Leads. The HVAC Specialist receives assignments in terms of schedules, priorities, and general instructions pertaining to special problem areas. This individual is afforded freedom of action within the framework of established policies, procedures, and production schedules, accomplishing assignments on their own initiative. Completed work is subject to review for adherence to policy, soundness of recommendations, and overall accomplishment of organizational tasks and functions.

Job Requirements
Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Education: Associate’s degree in a related field. May substitute equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Completion of an HVAC technical training program in a vocational or technical school or a recognized apprenticeship program preferred
HVAC or plumbing experience preferred. 
Active CFC certification preferred. 
Knowledge of the refrigeration cycle. 
Flexible to remain on-call 24/7. 
Travel Requirements: 

May require limited overnight travel at company expense.

Physical Requirements:

May travel to and from various locations and buildings throughout the year and in various weather conditions. Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change. May require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, and/or evening hours as well as weekends and Holidays. 
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis. Work occurs at various heights up to 60 feet, and the team member must climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders. Climbing and relocating a 12-foot ladder without assistance is required. Carrying tools up ladders is required. Will occasionally be required to lift up to 100 pounds and 60 pounds over an extended period, assistance may be requested. Must possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
