J&M Global Solutions (J&M) is looking for a human resources assistant to support our corporate team in Alexandria, VA. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Staffing & Onboarding
- Support HR team as needed with candidate sourcing
- Complete reference checks and run background screening
- Assign new hire onboarding and track process to completion
- Coordinate equipment for new hires (assign computers, establish email address, etc.)
Benefits
- Maintain benefits summary
- Support headquarters staff with benefits enrollments
- Assist with researching benefit options and changes in federal and state regulations
Tracking and Compliance
- Complete I9 forms for local hires
- Maintain HR records to include employee records, mobilization dates, etc.
- Assist with tracking completion of annual training
Additional duties:
- Stay informed of changes in federal and state employment laws
- Assist HR and business development teams with tracking, maintaining, and updating records
- Provide assistance in managing employee programs
- Provide logistics support for corporate meetings
- Answer telephone calls and forward requests to appropriate office
- Monitor and triage shared mailboxes
- Maintain equipment inventory
- Update corporate contact and deployment lists
- Prepare and generate reports as needed
- Respond to routine employee questions and concerns

- Experience supporting HR functions in a professional environment, BA preferred

- Ability to prioritize and work on tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and pivot when necessary
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills and writing skills
- Professional attitude and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Authorized to work in the U.S. and ability to pass standard background/credit check
