Job Description
Position Summary
SemanticBits is seeking an HR Administrator who is trustworthy, organized, collaborative, and has a customer-first mindset to join our fast-paced HR team. This position is based out of our headquarters office in Herndon, VA, but will have flexibility to work remotely. Our employees will rely on this person to help resolve matters that may be personal or sensitive in nature, so the right candidate will bring experience in handling confidential data and strong customer service skills. The individual in this role is responsible for onboarding, benefits administration, and assisting the recruiting team with hiring. This position provides support to the HR function including but not limited to record keeping, correspondence with employees and vendors, resolving benefit-related problems, processing and maintaining files in accordance with federal and state regulations such as I-9 forms, E-Verify records, and benefit enrollment documents, and conducting screening calls with applicants.

Job Requirements
Respond to employee inquiries
Schedule and conduct onboarding with new employees
Assist employees with benefits enrollment and changes
Maintain personnel records
Conduct screening calls
Provide additional HR support as needed such as recruiting, benefits administration, and employee engagement

Required Qualifications
Candidate must reside in the United States
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
One to two years of experience in Human Resources
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Critical thinker who provides solutions to problems
HRIS experience such as ADP Workforce Now
Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary

Nice to Have
HR certification such as aPHR
Experience with HR software or tools
Experience working for a Federal Government contractor
Prior remote work experience

Physical and emotional requirements for the job:
This position involves sedentary work. Employees in this role can be expected to exert up to 10 pounds of force on occasion in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move standard electronic equipment. Employees are expected to make decisions in a timely manner and display emotional intelligence during occasional stressful situations.
