Job Title: Event Marketing Specialist                           

Reports to: Event Marketing Supervisor

Department: Event Marketing

Classification: Non-exempt

Annual Salary: $16-$18 hour

Additional Compensation: Eligible for performance-based bonus (where applicable)

·          $10 Commission for Non-Set Demoed Leads

·          $20 Commission for Non-Set Sales

·          $35 Commission for Set Demoed Leads

·          $40 Commission for Sales

Position Overview:

The Event Marketing Specialist is responsible for engaging with event attendees to generate leads and promote brand awareness, and plays a critical role in achieving lead generation targets and strengthening brand visibility in key markets. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, high energy, and a confident, outgoing personality to contribute to the success of the team and deliver exceptional outcomes.

 

Your Role:

You’ll love coming to work if you’re capable of, eager to, and have the capacity to perform the following duties, which reflect the general nature and level of work required. While these tasks outline your essential functions, you may be asked to take on additional duties as needed:

·        Set prospects into qualified appointments at events – 85%

·        Set-Up, Tear-Down and Maintain your own displays – 15%

We train our team to help them succeed, and everyone on our team helps with our success. In this role, you’ll be accountable to hit the following numbers each week:

·        Appointments Set Per Hour at Home Shows = 1 set appointment per 1 hour worked

·        Appointments Set Per Hour at Non-Home Show Events = 1 set appointment per 1.5 hours worked

·        Appointments Set Per Hour at Retail Setting = 1 set appointment per 2 hours worked

·        Appointment to Demo Rate = 75%

·        On-Site Set Appointment Percentage at Retail Setting = 70%

·        On-Site Set Appointment Percentage at Events (Home Show & Non-Home Show) = 90%

Competencies:

·        Knowledge: Basic understanding of lead generation, customer engagement strategies, and event-based marketing. Familiarity with the home improvement industry or remodeling services is a plus.

·        Skills: Strong verbal communication, active listening, and persuasive speaking skills. Ability to confidently approach and engage large volumes of people in public settings. Skilled in maintaining professionalism and brand consistency in a fast-paced environment.

·        Abilities: Ability to remain enthusiastic, positive, and engaging for extended periods. Comfortable initiating conversations, responding to objections, and adapting talking points to different types of prospects. Strong attention to detail when completing lead forms and maintaining booth appearance. Able to work independently and manage on-site setup with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

·        Education: A high school diploma or equivalent.

·        Experience: At least 1 year of customer service, event, or sales experience preferred.

·        Certifications: N/A

·        Licenses: A valid driver’s license is required.

·        Other: N/A

Working Conditions:

·        Physical: Must be able to stand for long periods, speak with the public, and lift up to 30 pounds when setting up demonstration space. Must be able to set up and manage your own branded displays at events and retail locations.

·        Environment: Event-based, including indoor and outdoor venues. Occasional attendance at the office is required for team meetings or training.

·        Remote Work Eligibility: Not eligible.

·        Exposure: Minimal exposure to risk.

·        Travel: Must be able to travel and transport displays 100% of the time throughout Maryland, Virginia, and DC, and have reliable transportation.

·        Work Schedule: Part-time, up to 30 hours a week. Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays, depending on event schedules.
