Job Description

The program coordinator will be hired as a contractor from August 2020 through June 2021 with the possibility of extension. The position is part-time and hours will vary from 60 to 120 hours a month to support three program funders. The hours will start at an average of 60 hours a month and increase to 100 hours a month sometime in September or October. We also have funding for an additional project that we hope to launch this fall. The Energy Masters program coordinator will report to both EcoAction Arlington and the Virginia Cooperative Extension.

Qualifications:

  • Solid supervisory and leadership skills including working with diverse populations.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Being organized, detail oriented, and thrive on logistical challenges.
  • The ability to juggle competing priorities and demands and can work independently.
  • Experience facilitating or organizing trainings for adult learners.
  • The ability to diplomatically address problems and issues using sound judgment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience, strong interest, and/or skills in energy and water conservation and environmental education and outreach.
  • Experience managing volunteers.
  • (Bonus) Spanish language skills.
Job Requirements
Assist with the recruitment of volunteer candidates for the program.
Manage, attend and facilitate training program sessions for volunteers.
Conduct and maintain inventory of program supplies.
Develop partnerships with housing providers.
Participate in the site visit and site selection for work days.
Contribute to the development of new work streams for volunteers in response to the pandemic.
Coordinate work day logistics in advance of and on the work day,
Complete post work day task.
Assist with the execution of community outreach and education events.
Track program statistics for all funders.
Other duties as needed.
