Job Description
Responsibilities
- Prepare and direct live and taped news television broadcasts
- Code rundowns for all broadcasts
- Work in conjunction with editorial and production personnel to create and execute newscasts utilizing an automated production control system
- Give direction and timing to talent and other technicians on broadcasts
- Perform Director and Director Assist duties as required
- Weekly disaster recovery training
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience television directing in a live news environment
- Minimum 3 years working with and knowledge of television production equipment
- Minimum 3 years of experience with computer applications working and monitoring multiple screens and software applications simultaneously in a broadcast environment
- Minimum 3 years of experience with newsroom computer systems
- Minimum 1 year experience with Automated Production Control systems (ROSS OverDrive preferred)
- Must be willing to work in Washington D.C.
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be willing to join the Director’s Guild of America
- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
Desired Characteristics
- Traditional knowledge operating video switchers and audio consoles
- Familiarity with Dalet Galaxy, ROSS Xpression, ROSS Cambotics
- BA degree in Telecommunications/related field or equivalent work experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to prioritize, perform under pressure and make critical programming decisions under tight timelines
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Positive work ethic & attitude
- Team player
- High degree of integrity and professionalism
- Spanish language skills a plus

Salary range: $100,000 - $127,000
