The Communications Specialist will work closely with leadership to shape and execute a forward-looking communications strategy and initiatives which increases awareness around the Nathan brand and enhances Nathan’s reputation among clients and prospective employees. The specialist will lead Nathan corporate communications efforts in collaboration and coordination with the President/CEO, the Executive Leadership Committee, and the three business lines: International Development (ID), Financial Services (FS), and Advisory ensuring a unified corporate message while meeting the individual needs of each business line. The specialist will also provide project level support to the ID team, including strategic communications and dissemination around project achievements and activities. The specialist must be a strong writer and project manager, who uses their creativity to convey ideas in a compelling way, and must have expertise and experience in amplifying corporate and project messaging to key audiences through social and digital media.
The Communications Specialist will work across all levels and geographies of the firm to coordinate and lead execution of communications tasks:
Ø Working with Executive leadership, develop plans to effectively communicate strategic objectives and initiatives
Ø Provide tailored strategic and tactical support to the three business lines: ID, FS, and Advisory in support of client engagement, events, and business development
Ø Work with the leadership team, subject matter experts and project teams to draft and refine original content for use on the web, social media, press releases, print marketing collateral, presentations, email marketing, and internal documents
Ø Manage Nathan’s social and digital media strategy and activity on platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and manage the corporate website
Ø Produce polished visual material and layouts for Nathan’s presence on multiple platforms, and for print production
Ø Coordinate the production of internal newsletter and other internal corporate communications and events such as the CEO Chat, Knowledge Café, etc.
Ø Maintain an editorial calendar, coordinating with business lines to stay ahead of internal communications needs
Ø Leverage available tools and technology to assess the impact of communication initiatives, and package resulting analysis for leadership consumption
Ø Coordinate communications-related tasks for sponsored events, e.g. collateral, swag, signage, social media.
International Development Responsibilities:
Ø Work with SVP and group Vice Presidents in support of international projects and communications materials related to USAID, MCC, USTDA, and other development programs
Ø Provide direct support to develop or enhance communication products for Nathan’s USAID-funded projects through short-term project related assignments or by advising project communications teams
Ø Develop communication materials and social media campaigns related to key events, deliverables, and achievements across ID projects
Ø Edit and finalize project communications products, including written materials, success stories, and regular reporting requirements on an as needed basis
Ø Assist project teams to scope out communications functions or specific communication activities
Ø Develop communications networks across ID related communities to enhance Nathan’s reach and impact
Ø Support business development efforts as needed
