Job Description

Metron is seeking a Chief Network Engineer that will be responsible to develop, design and optimize information technology and system functions supporting company business processes and technical information systems platforms. Day to day responsibilities include analysis, selection and modification of enterprise systems, cloud architecture and engineering, application software, installation of network hardware/software and database management. Other responsibilities include;

  • Provides direction for the effort required to protect the company’s data, tools and information systems
  • Ensures infrastructure architecture standards maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility
  • Build and manage hybrid on-premise and cloud enclaves and solutions
  • Coordinates delivery of services to user groups and ensures IT service is uninterrupted
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates technical solutions to ensure efficient operation
  • Communicating the goals of the company to all engineers and professionals in the team
  • Supervising every phase of the project from start to completion
  • Calculating costs, material, labor, and time required for each project
  • Approving designs and budgets
  • Delegating tasks to engineering teams
  • Supervising staff training as well as equipment installation
  • Performing quality control checks on all systems and products
  • Quickly resolving disputes between staff
  • Acknowledging or rewarding good work
  • Analyzing data and drafting reports for review
Job Requirements
Desired Qualifications
Proven experience in IT Engineering, Network and or Systems Administration
Experience with system installation, configuration and analysis
Thorough knowledge of networks and cloud computing
Knowledge of US Government and Department of Defense Information Security and data protection standards including DFARS NIST 800-171, FISMA NIST 800-53, ITAR, etc.
Secret clearance preferred or ability to acquire said clearance
Leadership and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects
Problem-solving aptitude
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or relevant field or equivalent work experience
A sound understanding of Cybersecurity and Information Technology engineering principles and best practices
Strong written and verbal communications, able to communicate with team members, management personnel, and end users throughout the organization
