Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Possess a complete set of mechanic tools.
• Must be proficient in the use of computers.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring fundamentals.
• Ability to read manuals and schematics.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to make independent decisions within scope of responsibility.
Emotional, Psychological and Physical Requirements:
Ability to:
• Handle long hours and stressful situations
• Handle emergency situations
• Make quick and concise decisions under pressure
• Deal with the public on a secondary basis
• Greet and meet with visitors, clearly disseminate information to others
• Concentrate on priority tasks with frequent interruptions
Physically:
• Constantly moves about and works in varying weather conditions
• Ability to moves throughout facilities and grounds
• Ability to work on the road in varying weather conditions assisting in maintenance operations
• Ability to lift at least 60 lb., occasionally.
• Ability to be nimble and work in confined spaces
Additional/Miscellaneous/Special Requirements:
• Possesses or ability to obtain a Class B (Passenger and Air-Brake endorsement) Commercial Driver’s License with P endorsement within 60 days
of hire.
• Must successfully complete and pass: criminal background and child protective services check upon hire and must be maintained throughout
employment.
• Must successfully complete and pass drug screen testing upon hire and as regularly required by policy for position.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Relevant technical school training is beneficial but not required.
• Minimum two (2) years of vehicle maintenance or mechanic experience required. Diesel mechanic experience is preferred.
• Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of educational background.
