This is a technical maintenance scheduling position involving the scheduling of track outages, work activities and monitoring work progression within the Offices of Transit Infrastructure and Engineering Services (TIES). Incumbent has latitude for independent judgment and action within established guidelines. Incumbent reports to the designated supervisor through a review of completed work assignments.
Builds schedules for all single tracking and shutdown activities, builds and maintains annual work programs, establish and maintain schedules for track and structures maintenance and capital programs, and associated tasks; establishes logical cost effective sequences for the completion of multi-craft capital and maintenance projects often involving time, work site access or personnel restrictions. Ensures that schedule permits the imposing of special or non- programmed maintenance and capital activities by examining performance information and as necessary refining time requirements to allow for disruptions.
Analyzes maintenance data from computerized sources, statistical reports, and other records and uses information to assist staff in developing appropriate performance standards and productivity requirements. Recommends schedule adjustments related to project deliverables when necessary.
Monitors progress by observing master schedule and reviewing work activity reports; reschedules work and, as appropriate, incorporates information gathered through observations into future capital and maintenance schedules to avoid delays, redundancies or inadequate time allotments.
Works with Maintenance Managers and supervisors from assigned trade or craft areas in developing uniform, comprehensive scheduling criteria, including; maintenance priorities and progress milestones.
Verifies the accuracy and completeness of capital and maintenance reports, contacting the appropriate supervisor for additional information if there are gaps or discrepancies in the records.
Monitors the work progression of other departments and how it will affect currently scheduled work. Works with other departments to determine the safest, most cost effective way for other departments to share areas to allow scheduled work to be completed.
Works variable hours as required.

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Responsible experience planning and developing work schedules for labor activities. Experience in planning and scheduling analysis associated with program schedules. Some college experience preferred.
Ability to satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this job either with or without reasonable accommodation(s).
